RECENT PROJECTS & EVENTS

PIE Rebranding!

We wanted a logo refresh- since we focus on getting Collierville Schools students real-world work experience, we thought who better to help us think through re-branding than the graphic design class at Collierville High School? Last year’s class came up with some great ideas and helped inspire our new logo. Take a look at these student designs! We loved how they represented education & knowledge in so many of the versions above and we incorporated that into our new logo.

Workforce Development Open House

At this event, you will have the opportunity to interact with Collierville Schools’ Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers, students, and local post-secondary partners to learn about the innovative programs and courses being offered.  Attendees will be able to tour Collierville High School’s state-of-the-art CTE facilities and learn how students are learning skills and trades necessary to be career ready after graduation. This will also serve as an incredible opportunity for CTE teachers to learn about your industry and will use your feedback to help drive their instruction during the 2021-2022 school year.

Meet with Collierville CTE teachers this summer

Teachers have various dates in June and July available where they’re looking to meet with local industry professionals to discuss opportunities for partnerships throughout the upcoming school year. If you’d like to meet a teacher in a program aligned with your business or industry, reach out and we’ll help set up a meeting with the appropriate teacher!

Workforce Meeting at CHS

In April members of Partners in Education and other invitees from the business community gathered at Collierville High School to meet with teachers as industry groups to discuss programs, curriculum, certifications, partnership opportunities, and innovative ways to provide CTE students with work experience and career awareness.

Over 70 representatives from CHS, the business community, and post-secondary partners attended and spent over 2 hours discussing how to work together to make sure CHS students graduate ready for college or a career.

8th Grade Career Fair

Members of Partners in Education serve as the Career and Technical Education Advisory Council and represent industries that align with Collierville High School programs of study.

In a normal year, PIE members would give in-person presentations as part of an 8th grade Career Day, but we know 2020 has proven to be anything but normal. In order to adapt to Covid-19 restrictions and to keep our students and teachers safe, these business leaders and post-secondary representatives volunteered their time and expertise to film videos for a virtual career fair.
